MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL)- A Marianna man driving a vehicle and his passenger were arrested after a Jackson County Sheriff's Department K-9 deputy made a traffic stop and the dog alerted on the odor of narcotics.
The driver, Josh Patrick, 42, of Marianna, FL, and the passenger, Crystal Micheletti, were both taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility on Tuesday to await their first appearances in court.
Patrick was stopped for a traffic infraction while the deputy was patrolling near the intersection of Highway 69 and Highway 90 in Grand Ridge. He was charged with driving with a suspended licence.
Micheletti had an active warrant from Washington County, FL.
The K-9 "Max" alerted on the odor of narcotics emanating from within the vehicle at the passenger's side door.
A vehicle search turned up items in a purse that included a piece of aluminum foil with a yellow residue on it. A field test showed favorable signs of the residue being methamphetamine, a news release said.
Also in the purse was a pill bottle that had four white oblong pills that were identified as being a schedule IV controlled substance.
