MARIANNA, FL. (WTXL) - A Memphis, Tennessee man is convicted by a Federal Jury for assaulting a correctional officer.
Kenneth Hobson is being housed at the Federal Correctional Institution in Marianna.
During his trial Wednesday, the government presented evidence showing that in July of 2014, Hobson forcibly assaulted a corrections officer after the officer attempted to search Hobson for contraband. Officers say that's when Hobson punched the officer multiple times knocking him unconscious.
Sentencing is scheduled for November. If convicted Hobson faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
