MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) - A Marianna High School track coach has been arrested after admitting to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.
Te'Quayis Brigham, 23, was arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.
On July 10, JCSO received information that Brigham, the track coach at Marianna High School, was sexually involved with a 16-year-old student.
During the investigation, deputies found out that Brigham and the student had multiple sexual interactions, which may have taken place on school grounds.
JCSO states that at least one of the sexual interactions took place while Brigham and his team were at a track meet in Jacksonville.
Investigators are also looking into Brigham's and the student's cell phone to see if any pictures or videos were exchanged.
Investigators learned that Brigham had a "secret" relationship with the student that took place over the course of four months.
On Tuesday, he was brought in for questioning by JCSO and admitted to his involvement with the student, however, he denied that he had a "secret" relationship with the student.
The Department of Children and Families received a second report that stated a second student may have also been sexually abused by Brigham.
Brigham was also questioned about the second victim's allegations, but denied those claims.
Based on the evidence, Brigham is being charged with sexual battery while in familial and/or custodial authority.
He was taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
