WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTXL) - U.S. Senator Marco Rubio issued a statement Tuesday praising President Trump’s nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch.
In regards to Gorsuch, Rubio says "By all accounts he has the right temperament and experience for the job, and I’m pleased to see him nominated to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court."
Defending Gorsuch's qualification, Rubio recounts that the Senate unanimously confirmed Gorsuch to the Tenth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals by voice vote back in 2006.
This selection by President Trump fulfills an early campaign promise to nominate a conservative judge to replace the last Antonin Scalia.
