Marantha Seventh Day Adventist Host Community Health Fair

Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)--Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist Church is helping the community get fit. 

The church hosted it's Seventh annual Southside Community Health and Fitness fair today, providing free health screenings, food games and music.

Over 70 vendors turned out to help educate the community on things they can do to stay healthy.

Marantha Seventh Day Adventist Church say it's all about strengthening the community both physically and spiritually.

"At the end of the day we believe our bodies are our temples. And so because our bodies are a temple for us to be the best citizens we can be, the best christians and people that we can be we have to be healthy so that's one of the main purposes for why we are trying to do this", Leonard Newton.

The festival also featuring some fitness heavyweights. Former NFL player Ernie Sims was on hand to meet and greet the community.
