Mandatory evacuation issued for coastal, low lying areas in Taylor County

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A mandatory evacuation has been issued for all coastal and low lying areas in Taylor County. 

Sheriff Padgett has ordered a mandatory evacuation of all coastal and low lying areas of Taylor County.

A bus will be at the Steinhatchee School 2 p.m. Tuesday to begin transport to the Taylor County Elementary School. The shelter will open at approximately 2 p.m.

There will be a bus located at the Keaton Beach Boat ramp at 2 p.m. to transport citizens needing a ride to the shelter located at Taylor County Elementary School.

The shelter is pet friendly. Bring your kennel and shot record with you.

There will be a last loop at 5 p.m. starting at Steinhatchee School and then going to Keaton Beach Boat Ramp. Bus will wait 30 minutes at each location.
