Dewey Beach, Delaware (WTXL) -- A Delaware grandfather died on Sunday after leaving a self-written, humorous obituary for his family to find. Walter Bruhl Jr. must have had a great sense of humor and a love for Monty Python as started off quoting a sketch about a dead parrot:

"Walter George Brulh Jr. of Newark and Dewey Beach is a dead person; he is no more; he is bereft of life; he is deceased; he has rung down the curtain and gone to join the choir invisible; he has expired and gone to meet his maker."

Bruhl was a Korean war vet and also discussed his years in the military as well as how "Hollywood propaganda" inspired him to join the Marine Corps. The obituary then went on to say, "There will be no viewing since his wife refuses to honor his request to have him standing in the corner of the room with a glass of Jack Daniels in his hand so he would appear natural to visitors."

His grandson admitted to laughing and crying simultaneously while reading the obit for the first time; humor has helped the family cope with Bruhl's passing.

Described by family as a man who loved making others smile, Bruhl's son claimed, "This was him to a T."

Bruhl loved to write and dreamed of being published one day. It looks like Walter Brulh got his dying wish... and the last laugh.
