SMYRNA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after police shot a man during a confrontation at a hotel just northwest of Atlanta.
Police say the gunfire happened shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday at the hotel along Windy Hill Road, in Cobb County. Police say the man was shot in the stomach and taken to Kennestone Hospital.
WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1HlLvM2) that one of the officers was treated for multiple injuries but was expected to recover.
Police say officers were called the hotel to investigate reports of a suspicious person, and became involved in an altercation with the suspect in a motel room and continued in a hallway.
Few other details were immediately available.
