A police chase on northbound Interstate 95 ended with the suspect in custody.
The high-speed chase started in Riviera Beach and continued north on I-95. Riviera Beach police said the car struck a police officer who was called to a domestic incident on West 28th Street. That officer was taken to a hospital, but his injuries were not immediately known.
Authorities said the car exited on Indian town Road and headed west. The suspect bailed out of the car near Jupiter and was taken into custody.
Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies said they had to pull over and restrain the suspect, who was spitting on them. They placed a surgical mask on his face, calmed him down and then took him to jail.
He was also seen wearing only boxer shorts.
