VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta Police are searching for a man who they say choked his girlfriend and her daughter after a fight.

Police say they were called out to the woman's Fry St. home around 10:00 on April 11.

When they arrived, they say the victim told officers she and her live-in boyfriend, 38-year-old Shannon Kier, were fighting, when he strangled her.

Officers say when the woman's daughter heard the commotion, she came into the room and tried to stop the man.

Police say Kier slammed the child to the ground and also put his hands around her neck.

The woman called police for help, but officers say Kier was gone when they got to the home. The two victims are expected to be okay.

Shannon Kier is wanted on two felony counts of aggravated assault by strangulation and one felony count of cruelty to children in the 1st degree.
