JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A man suffered serious injuries in a single car accident after driving off the road on I-10 at a high speed in Jackson County.
Jagger Escalante, 24, of Texas, sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident on Saturday at about 7:30 a.m. on I-10 at mile marker 134.
According to FHP, Escalante was traveling eastbound on I-10, when a witness said that, while driving at a high speed, Escalante's car ran off the road onto the grass median, before he steered back onto the roadway.
His car traveled across both eastbound lanes, hitting a ditch, the I-10 barrier fence, and becoming entangled in the fencing, before his car came to a stop.
FHP states Escalante suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
FHP says alcohol did not play a role in the accident and he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
FHP says charges are pending the traffic crash investigation.
