Man steals sports gear from Suwannee County high school

SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 29-year-old man has been arrested after deputies say he broke into Branford High School and stole $2,500 worth of sports gear before trying to sell it online. 

The Suwannee County Sheriff's Office says Brandon Lee Turner, 29, of Lake City broke into a locked storage room at Branford High School (BHS) and stole approximately $2,500 worth of property. 

He then listed the property for sale online.

The high school's resource deputy, along with SCSO investigators,were able to track down and recover the majority of the stolen items and return them to the school.

Turner was arrested and charged with burglary, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property. He is currently incarcerated in the Suwannee County Jail for these charges as well as violating his probation from Columbia County.
