RIVERDALE, Ga. (AP) — The Clayton County Sheriff's Office says a man accused of stealing a car also abducted and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl who was in the backseat of the stolen vehicle.
The girl was taken when her mother's car was stolen Oct. 14 outside a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in Riverdale. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1jy9Kjr ) reports that authorities say the girl was abducted and sexually assaulted at gunpoint by Tyreek Bowers-Rivera, who is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities didn't release the suspect's age.
The girl's family told WGCL-TV after the incident last Wednesday that the man who stole the mother's car realized the girl was in the backseat and let her out a few miles down the road. The girl then flagged down another car and called for help.
