JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers say one man is dead and a teen is in critical condition after an overnight crash in Jackson County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that 47-year-old Garry Morris of Panama City Beach was driving north on County Road 169 Wednesday night when his car went onto the shoulder.
When it did, his car hit a drain pipe, causing the car to fly into the air. Troopers say the car went through some utility wires and tree branches before smashing into the ground and overturning.
They said that the car came to a rest on its roof, facing south on the front lawn of 5052 Peanut Road.
Morris later died from his injuries. His passenger, 18-year-old Jonathan Malloy, was taken to Southeast Medical Center for critical injuries.
Troopers say that charges are pending investigation.
