NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - A southwest Florida man involved in two drunken driving crashes, including one that killed a woman, has been sentenced to three years in prison after prosecutors dropped a manslaughter charge.
The Naples Daily News reports that 25-year-old Kiereek Seymour was sentenced Monday.
The prison time is for a fleeing and eluding charge related to January 2015 high-speed chase through Marco Island, where officials say Seymour was drunk and behind the wheel.
Seymour was also involved in a drunken driving crash in May 2014 that left 54-year-old Sandra Maddux dead, but prosecutors reduced that charge last week to a misdemeanor DUI count. They said they'd have trouble proving Seymour's intoxication level and responsibility for the fatal crash.
