TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A man has been indicted in connection with the death of a woman who's body was found near a Tallahassee apartment complex.

At the Leon County Courthouse Tuesday, a judge indicted 30-year-old Leon Woodberry on charges of first degree murder.

The indictment comes after officers found 24-year-old Shannan Gordon's body on the morning of April 16, after someone reported seeing it near the woods at the intersection of Pecan and Willie Vause Roads.

Police said the woman died from stab wounds.

While there, they spoke with a woman in the apartment who said her brother, Leon Woodberry, was acting strange, cleaning blood from the apartment with bleach, and had gotten into a fight with someone. She and her boyfriend took him to the hospital the night before for a wound on his hand.

Police said they found women's clothing and a purse, along with a man's shirt with blood on it in the apartment complex's dumpster, as well as a knife in his kitchen that was wet from attempts to clean it.
