SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A man is facing charges after law enforcement says he lit his ex on fire.
Deputies say last Thursday night Philip Pettey jumped out of the woods and threw a flammable substance onto the woman, who was smoking a cigarette.
She was burned on the top half of her body and is suffering third-degree burns all over her chest.
Investigators are working to figure out what substance Pettey threw on the woman.
He is charged with aggravated battery to cause bodily harm.
More charges are pending.
