SUWANNEE Co., Fla., (WTXL) -- A man was taken to Shands Hospital Live Oak in serious condition following a crash in Suwannee County.
Florida Highway Patrol says 43-year-old Billy Joe Howell was not wearing his seat belt when driving East on County Road 252 near 61st Road.
Witnesses told troopers, Howell's vehicle began to gradually drift into the left lane and then went off the roadway.
The front of the vehicle ran into a fence on the north-side of the road, before hitting a large Oak Tree with the vehicle's left front side.
He faces a charge of failure to drive in a single lane.
