JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers said a man from Texas is in critical condition after his semi-truck hit a tree.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that Dayron Gabarito was traveling east in a semi on I-10 around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
The said that while in the right lane, the semi started to travel along the south shoulder, causing the front of the trailer to hit a tree. After hitting the tree, the semi rotated, making the semi and trailer detach.
Gabarito was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
FHP said charges are pending against him for failure to maintain a lane.
