GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) – A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in front of the Flying J in Midway.
Troopers say Alfred Johnson was hit by a car while walking in front the Flying J Truck Stop in Midway.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Saturday at 7:50 p.m.
They say the driver of a Ford Focus was traveling on U.S. Highway 90 in the outside lane. Johnson was walking along the road at the same time and ended up being in the same path the driver was headed in.
Documents say the driver tried to slow down and steer to the right, but couldn’t stop before hitting Johnson.
Johnson was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol, along with Gadsden County EMS and the Midway Police Department all helped with managing the scene.
