VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) -- A man was hit and killed by a train in Valdosta Thursday morning, said police.
Officers were dispatched to the train tracks in the 500 block of W. Savannah Avenue for a report of a man lying on the tracks.
Police said that 59-year-old Isaac Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene. The Valdosta Police Traffic Unit is currently investigating the incident.
“At this point, there appears no negligence by the train conductor but the investigation continues”, stated Lieutenant Kari Williams.
