KISSIMMEE, FL. (AP) - A central Florida man has been convicted for his part in a fatal robbery.
An Osceola County jury found 22-year-old David Damus guilty Thursday of murder and armed burglary.
Authorities say Damus - along with Juan Muriel, Victoria Rios and Konrad Schafer Jr. - participated in a 15-day shooting spree in July 2013 that left two people - 22-year-old Eric Roopnarine and 17-year-old David Guerrero - dead and more than 20 houses and vehicles damaged.
Damus was specifically accused of killing Roopnarine, but he testified that he was an innocent bystander and didn't realize the others planned to rob the nightclub promoter.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://goo.gl/m07m6v ) reports that Muriel agreed to testify against the others in a plea deal guaranteeing he will serve 10 years instead of life in prison for murder.
Rios' trial is scheduled for June 29, and Schafer's trial is scheduled for Sept. 15.
