WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A South Florida man already serving life in prison has been convicted for his role in a fatal convenience store robbery.

A Palm Beach County jury found Geovany Zuniga guilty of murder on Tuesday. The Palm Beach Post (http://goo.gl/OpJ7pR ) reports that he was previously convicted and sentenced to life in 2012, but that case was overturned on appeal.

Zuniga wasn't present during the 2007 robbery of the Three Amigos grocery and check cashing store that led to the fatal shooting of motorist Samuel Salomon, prosecutors said Zuniga did help plan the crime. Under Florida's felony murder law, someone can be charged with murder if he or she participates in a crime that leads to a death.

Defense attorneys argued that Zuniga thought he was only participating in a check cashing scheme and had no idea what the other men planned to do.
