PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for beating his girlfriend to death.
As part of a deal with Bay County prosecutors, 29-year-old Justin Davis was sentenced Monday after pleading no contest to manslaughter. The Panama City News Herald reports that Davis had previously been deemed mentally unfit to stand trial.
Authorities say Davis repeatedly stuck 31-year-old Jessica Brandy Huey on the face and head until her neck broke during a domestic argument in August 2014.
