PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WTXL) - A man who shot a Florida wildlife officer and then tried to run him down with the officer's patrol boat was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday.
Samuel Wyndham Reager was convicted of attempted first-degree murder of an officer, armed robbery and trespassing in February 2018. He had been in jail since August 2015.
Reager shot FWC Officer David Brady and then tried to run him over with his patrol boat. Authorities say Reager and a co-defendant stole the officer's boat and ran it aground before they were caught.
Brady identified Reager as the person who shot him, and physical evidence implicated Reager.
