OCALA, Fla. (AP) — Deputies say an Ocala man got so upset over his dog wandering away that he stomped on a car windshield, causing a 12-year-old girl to suffer cuts from the broken glass.
The incident happened Saturday when Marcus Jeremy Waters came home and found his dog missing after the front door had been left open.
The Ocala Star-Banner reports Waters yelled at his girlfriend as she tried to leave with her daughters. When the 12-year-old told him he shouldn't talk to her mother like that, deputies say Waters jumped onto the hood and began stomping the windshield.
He ran into the woods and deputies pursued him with a K-9.
He was charged with child abuse and remains in the Marion County Jail. It's not known whether the dog was found.
