ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man is facing a feticide charge for shooting his pregnant former girlfriend during a rampage in northeast Georgia.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials say Ryan Edgar Arnold carjacked and shot a man, engaged law enforcement personnel in a rolling gun battle and rammed an 18-wheeler into several police cars in Oglethorpe County. The Athens Banner-Herald reports that 23-year-old Haley Hill remained in critical condition on Wednesday at Athens Regional Medical Center.

The GBI says Hill's child was pronounced dead upon being delivered at the hospital.

Mike Ayers of the GBI says Arnold was also charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping with bodily injury. Two of the assault charges are for Arnold shooting Hill and Paul Donald Davis, a 58-year-old logging truck driver.
