WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 60-year-old Crawfordville man is dead from injuries sustained in a single-car accident after hitting three trees.
Dennis Murphy was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place at about 5:53 a.m. Wednesday on Wakulla Springs Road.
FHP said Murphy was driving on Wakulla Springs Road when he hit a large tree that had fallen across both lanes.
After hitting the tree, Murphy's car began to spin and ran off the roadway. FHP stated he then hit another fallen tree that was off the roadway, before hitting a third, standing tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to FHP, Murphy was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.
