AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Prosecutors say a man accused of having sex with a woman who was either unconscious or dead was denied bond in Georgia.
Assistant District Attorney Natalie Paine tells the Augusta Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1QP7ywL ) that 45-year-old Marcus D. Booker was denied bond Friday. Booker has been jailed since his arrest Feb. 2, the day after 42-year-old Zasquan A. Parrish was found dead in a boarding house.
Paine says Parrish and Booker had been smoking crack at the boarding house on Jan. 31. Paine says a witness later saw Booker having sex with Parrish who was unconscious or dead.
Paine says Booker has prior convictions for drugs in 1990, aggravated assault with intent to rape in 1999, drugs in 2008, and felony shoplifting in 2010. He also had a conviction for felony battery in Indiana in 1993.
