TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol reports on a fatal accident happening at 11 a.m. on 18275 U.S. Highway 98 earlier this morning.
Troopers say John A. Butler was laying on his back underneath a stationary car with the engine running in an open lot. Bulter was trying to resolve a mechanical issue with the car.
Reports say during the course of the repair, the car became mobile and rolled backwards onto Bulter.
Officials say a bystander was able to move the car forward off of Bulter, but he sustained serious injuries and was transported to Doctor's Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and Taylor County EMS/Fire Rescue assisted at the scene.
