JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A man is in critical condition after firefighters pulled him from a burning home in Jacksonville just before the roof collapsed.
When crews got to the home on Thanksgiving morning they found a man trying to get inside the home, where flames could be seen coming from the garage area. He told them there was someone inside the home.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1vpaZSY ) reports firefighters went to the back of the home and found a young man on a bed. Flames came through the home's roof, forcing crews to leave. The roof collapsed a short time later.
The man was taken to a hospital. The man who was trying to rescue him was also to a hospital, where he's in stable condition.
The state fire marshal is investigating.
