MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Madison man, with a warrant out for his arrest, climbed a tree to avoid being apprehended by a Madison County Sheriff's Office K-9.

Calvin Johnson, 41, was arrested by MCSO on Monday.

On Monday around 1:53 p.m., deputies responded to an address on NE Bramble Trail in an attempt to find and arrest Johnson for an active bond revocation arrest warrant.

When deputies arrived, they talked with two juveniles who initially said that Johnson was not at the location.

After deputies continued to question the juveniles about Johnson, they admitted to deputies that Johnson saw the deputies coming and ran into the woods.

Deputies deployed a K-9 to track Johnson and established a perimeter around the area.

Deputies spotted Johnson running across a field and they released the K-9 to try and apprehend Johnson.

Johnson was able to climb up a tree to avoid the K-9, but he was ultimately taken into custody from the tree without further incident.

Johnson is now being additionally charged with resisting an officer without violence.
