VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - A Valdosta man is behind bars after he called 911, telling them that he had cut his arm on a piece of glass while breaking into a local business.
The Valdosta Police Department said that on Sunday around 4:30 a.m., they were called to 1000 North Ashley Street where Heavenly Car Wash is located.
When they arrived, 43-year-old Larry Thomas told them that he had cut his arm on a piece of glass while breaking into the car wash.
He told them that he had been forced to take illegal drugs and while under the influence, he was given a brick and told to break into the car wash to steal items.
Surveillance footage showed Thomas shattering the glass window, cutting himself, then entering the business where he begun stealing items.
Thomas was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment to his arm. He was then taken to the Lowndes County Jail where he faces burglary charges.
