THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomasville Police have arrested a man for exposing himself to residents at Cherokee Lake Park.
According to officials, the incident happened on Monday and the individual, identified as Roger Allen Lavender, has been placed into custody and charged with child molestation.
This is not the first time this has happened at the park.
Police say there have been repeat instances for the past few weeks. In fact, the most recent case of indecent exposure happened at this exact same park earlier this month.
Police say this is a serious problem at the park and they are doing whatever they can to get it under control.
"We take this very seriously, when we have people in the public doing these sort of things in front of our children, in front of our families, people who are just there to enjoy the park," said Major Eric Hampton.
They are encouraging people in the park to use caution and to make a report to police immediately when this happens.
