GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A semi driver has been charged after causing a crash with two other semis on I-10 westbound.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the incident happened Wednesday evening on I-10 westbound near mile-marker 161.

They say Juan Depeyron, 54, of Orlando, Fla. and two other tractor-trailers were traveling near each other. As Depeyron followed along with a turn in the road, he started "hard braking" to avoid hitting a slower moving car in his lane.

However, doing so caused his semi to start jackknifing, entering the inside lane and hitting the semi driving next to it.

Eventually, Depeyron's semi collided into a concrete wall on a paved shoulder, causing a third semi traveling near it to crash into the back of the trailer.

Troopers say the semis blocked all the lanes on I-10 during the crash.

After an investigation, Depeyron was charged for careless driving.
