ALPHARETTA, Ga. (AP) - Police say a man accused of shooting at a woman and her brother this week in a suburban Atlanta restaurant parking lot has been charged.
Alpharetta Police officer George Gordon tells local news media Thursday that 20-year-old Calmetruis Dawkins is charged with aggravated assault. Police say the incident occurred in a California Pizza Kitchen parking lot after the victim and her brother confronted Dawkins about allegedly stealing money from them.
The police report says Dawkins fled on foot after shooting three rounds while the woman pursued him. The report also says a police officer working a traffic accident said he witnessed the woman catch up with Dawkins and began fighting him.
Gordon says a bullet pierced the woman's jacket, but missed her.
It's not clear if Dawkins has an attorney.
