DAYTONA BEACH, FL (RNN) – Police have charged a man for attacking a person who was dressed in a Minion costume outside a store.
Surveillance video shows Jamie Roehm being kicked, tackled and generally harassed, while at least one person recorded the action on a cell phone. Roehm is partially blind and mentally handicapped, according to a police report.
“Daytona Beach Police arrested 25-year-old Ryan Nihart on Sunday night after the suspect picked up a ... man dressed as a Minion, spun him around and dropped him on the pavement,” the department said on its Facebook page.
The store owner and others detained Nihart until police arrived. He was charged with criminal mischief and battery.
The $300 Minion suit was destroyed, the store owner told police.
