LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The man arrested with meth and fentanyl inside his scooter has been identified.
The Leon County Sheriff's Office arrested Phillip Montero on Monday.
Deputies say they tried to stop the Montero near Connie Drive for riding a scooter with no headlights. He refused to stop and eventually jumped off the scooter and ran.
They later found Montero walking along the power lines.
Deputies took him into custody after a struggle, finding a handgun, 7 grams of meth, and 20 pills of Alprazolam on his person.
Montero eventually admitted to deputies that the scooter was stolen. When they searched the scooter, they found more pills and drugs to include fentanyl, morphine, and suboxone. They also found cocaine and 21 grams of meth.
Montero also had five active warrants out for his arrest in Leon County. He was transported to jail where he remains on a bond over $100,000.
