TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department arrested Thomas P. Waltz on 4 counts of false imprisonment on Sunday, October 8.

Reports say an officer was working off-duty security detail at 302 Raven St. commonly known as The Strip, when a female victim approached him.

The woman informed the officer that a man claiming to be military police demanded her identification, placed his hands on her, and told her she was unable to leave until she presented identification.

Officials say three other people came forward and said they had experienced similar situations with the same man.

The officer was later able to find and speak with Waltz.

Waltz claimed a friend had informed him about a possible sexual battery that took place and described the suspect. He then stated he began walking around the bar and asking to see subjects' identification.

The officer then asked why would he confront subjects that were different from his description and he replied he only confronted subjects that matched the description.

Based on the statements provided by all parties involved, probable cause was established and Waltz was arrested, and transported to Leon County Jail.
