WAKULLA COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -- Deputies say they arrested a man who was in possession of an active methamphetamine cook.

Information from the Wakulla County Sheriff's Department:

Wesley Ian Griffin, 36, of Faulk Drive in Tallahassee was arrested on one count of manufacturing of methamphetamine and two counts each of sale of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine from previous investigations.

During an undercover narcotics investigation conducted last month, the Narcotics Unit learned that Griffin regularly sold narcotics in Wakulla County. The Narcotics Unit conducted a number of undercover operations during the last several weeks involving Griffin.

On Nov. 10, the Narcotics Unit received information that Griffin was at a business in the Riversink area. He was secured by law enforcement and the vehicle in which he was riding was searched. During the search of the vehicle a satchel was located with many items used for the manufacture of methamphetamine. A bottle with an active cook was also located. A sample taken from the "cook bottle" yielded a positive result for the presence of methamphetamine.

Griffin was transported to the Wakulla County Jail where he is being held under a $22,500 bond.

Griffin is also a convicted sex offender for a sexual battery against a child under the age of 16 and faces violation of probation charges.
