LOWNDES, Co., Ga., (WTXL) -- A man has been arrested in Lowndes County after a probation officer in Valdosta recognized him during an attempted burglary investigation.
Chad Griffis was identified on May 8, as being the armed robber from an attempted burglary at the Dollar General on U.S. Highway 84, Wednesday.
An employee of Dollar General told deputies she was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot when a man, she did not know, approached her with a handgun and demanded money. When the victim explained she had no money the man fled.
Friday, Griffis was arrested for violation of probation. Today, he was charged with criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.
