TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is out on drug trafficking charges after deputies found a large amount of heroin inside his car on Friday.
Court documents say on Friday, Leon County deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Ida Road and West Tennessee Street.
When deputies approached the vehicle, they identified the as driver 37-year-old Benjamin Simmons.
Documents say deputies asked Simmons if he had any illegal drugs on him. He immediately admitted that there was meth and heroin inside his vehicle.
Deputies then searched the vehicle and found :
- 5.8 grams of meth
- 16.7 grams of heroin
- .1 grams of heroin mixed with meth
- two needles
- a box of Ziploc bags
- a digital scale
- $603
According to documents, Simmons was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility. He is being charged with trafficking heroin and drug sell of meth.
Simmons has since bonded out.
