TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested after police say he stole three guns from two different Tallahassee stores on the same day.
The Tallahassee Police Department says they arrested 24-year-old Jason White in connection to three gun thefts on Friday, June 29.
Officers say they were called to Cash America Pawn at 2535 South Adams Street around 11:21 a.m. When they arrived, employees told them a man had come in and asked to look at two guns, a .45 caliber and a .380 caliber handgun.
The man then picked up both handguns and ran outside the store without paying for them, driving away from the area in a silver Toyota.
About four hours later at 3:12 p.m., officers were called to Academy Sports at 3122 Mahan Drive where employees had restrained a man who tried to run out of the store and steal a .40 caliber handgun, ammo, and a backpack.
Following an investigation, officers found probable cause to charge White for both thefts.
The case has been assigned to investigators from TPD’s Burglary Crimes Unit. Investigators are asking anyone with additional information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
