DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL)--A Decatur County man remains in jail for growing hundreds of marijuana plants. Investigators say they caught 48-year old Phillip Byrd in action Friday tending to his plants.
Byrd lives on Kemp Road. Across the street from his house is where more than 1,200 plants were discovered many scattered throughout an open field. Kemp is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of firearm by convicted felon.
Investigators say they received a complaint about the grow on Monday.
