TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man was arrested for grand theft and burglary after breaking into two properties in Tallahassee.
Ke'Yondre Huggins, 22, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on March 30.
On Jan. 4, Huggins broke into a garage on Cuerno Street. Officers say Huggins was able to get in due to an unlocked door on the side of the garage.
The victim told police, boxes that were lined up against the wall had been thrown over the hood of her car.
According to the police report, he also entered the victim's car, which was parked inside the garage.
On the same date, less than a mile away, Huggins broke into a home on Woodbern Lane. Huggins used a stack of lawn chairs to climb and pry open a window.
While he was inside the home, Higgins used a crowbar to open a locked metal gun cabinet inside the victim's bedroom.
Three handguns were stolen from the gun safe.
Due to having too many items to carry, Huggins left a pile of miscellaneous property from Cuerno Street, such as a pair of black pants, Under Armour boxers, gold cuff links, a blue tooth speaker, a universal power bank, and a small notebook outside the Woodbern Ln. property.
The victim on Cuerno Street said those items belonged to her son.
On March 15, officers contacted the mother of Huggins to see if she could assist them in contacting Huggins.
She told officers that Huggins did not have a cell phone and said he had just left her home.
She informed officers that Huggins lives with her on East Bradford Road and agreed to have Huggins contact officers as early as possible.
On March 16, officers went back to Huggins' home, but he was not present at the time.
Based on the evidence, Huggins was arrested and charged with three counts of grand theft of a firearm, burglary, armed burglary, and grand theft.
His bond is set at $10,000.
