TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a fatal stabbing on Pensacola Street over the weekend.
TPD has arrested Marcus Butler, 29, for the fatal stabbing that occurred on July 22 at 2550 West Pensacola Street.
Police have identified the man who was killed as 21-year-old Andrais Johnson.
Butler has been charged with second degree murder. He was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility where he remains held on no bond.
Butler has a long rap sheet dating back more than 10 years. In his last arrest for grand theft of a motor vehicle and giving false identification to an officer in March 2017, he was labeled a violent criminal offender of special concern.
However, Butler only served roughly two months in jail before being let out.
WTXL has requested the arrest documents and will update the story once we receive them.

The Tallahassee Police Department says the stabbing happened near 2550 West Pensacola St. and officers arrived there about 10:38 p.m. Sunday.
The victim was transported to a hospital and died from the injuries.
