LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested after he hit and killed a motorcyclist and tried run from the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, 21-year-old Brandon Peterson was driving his Ford Pickup north on U.S. 27 behind Gordon Wimberley, 45, who was riding a motorcycle.

They said that Wimberley had started slowing down to get ready for a left turn, but Peterson didn't and hit the back of the motorcycle.
