JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of shooting another man in the face.

On Thursday, the Sheriff's Office got a call about a shooing at a home in the 4800 block of Basswood Road in Bascom.

When deputies arrived, the learned that one person, Kenneth Ogle, had been shot in the face.

Investigators believe that the victim, Kenneth Ogle, came to the home to deliver something to a female resident at the home, walking in on 48-year-old Greg Layton battering the woman.

Deputies say an argument erupted between the two men and Layton pushed Ogle, knocking him on the ground. That's when Layton pulled out a gun and fired it once, hitting Ogle in the face.

Layton was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and domestic battery. He was taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.

Ogle was treated for his injuries at the hospital and was later released.
