VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) -- A man on a motorcycle was arrested after he led law enforcement on a multi-county high speed chase chase.
From the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department
On Friday, October 16, around 3:30 pm a deputy clocked a motorcycle at 94 miles per hour traveling north on I-75. The deputy attempted a traffic stop but the motorcycle refused to stop and exited the interstate at exit 29.
The motorcycle continued to flee east on Georgia Highway 122 reaching speeds around 100 miles per hour.
The motorcycle continued into Lanier County at excessive speeds and driving erratically, swerving at opposing traffic causing vehicles to swerve to avoid a collision.
Officers with the Lakeland Police Department and deputies with the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office set up a roadblock near the city limits of Lakeland where the motorcycle stopped. The driver, Marvin Lee Kittrell was arrested for the various traffic violations and while being searched, a quantity of marijuana was found.
Sheriff Prine expressed his appreciation to the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeland Police Department for their help in stopping Kittrell.
“Fleeing from law enforcement is dangerous enough, but they way Kittrell was driving endangered everyone on the road.”
