TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Bay County deputies arrest a man wanted by Leon County deputies for kidnapping an 11-month-old baby.
Clifford Fairfax spent the day Friday with a female he knew and her 11-month-old child. According to deputies, when Fairfax went to take the two home, he missed their turn. They say, the woman kept asking for him to turn around, but he kept going and said the child was his.
Fairfax eventually headed back to the woman's home and as they got closer the woman asked to get out. When she exited the vehicle, that's when deputies say, Fairfax drove off with the baby still inside.
Saturday, Bay County deputies were able to track Fairfax down at a store where he was then arrested.
The infant was recovered without injury.
